In a press conference today, Texas DPS Director Steven McCraw criticized the decision by local Uvalde police to not breach the classroom door:

That incident commander thought there was no more threat to the children and they had time to organize:

One of those details shared was that a teacher had propped open the door of the school before Ramos crashed. That’s how he got in:
