According to a story from thehill.com at least one potential 2020 presidential candidate wants to ensure that NFL players are not threatened or bullied for taking part in protests of the national anthem.
In what will no doubt be a great relief to those fervently hoping that America would elect a President who would make sure that those who participated in demonstrations aimed at disrespecting the anthem, the flag and the country are treated with the upmost respect, there is a distinct possibility that Senator Kamala Harris will throw her hat into the ring.
In an attempt to pander to the widest audience possible (something Harris has developed into something of a science) the Senator (and less we forget “former Attorney General”) from the State of California stated
“”When we sing ‘The Star-Spangled Banner,’ we rightly think about the brave men and women from all backgrounds who proudly defend the freedom of those they may never meet and people who will never know their names. When we sing ‘The Star-Spangled Banner,’ we also think about those marching in the streets who demand that the ideals of that flag represent them too….”
Had Senator Harris elaborated on her “marching in the streets” sound byte she may have been forced to identify those marchers as anarchists and cop-killers something she wisely declined to do.
Not one sane person has mistaken the marchers of ANTIFA or Black Lives Matter for anything other than what they are – thugs and malcontents who have never spent a millisecond of their lives worrying about who the flag represents.
Even the Main Stream Media (who create crap sandwiches and market them as fine cuisine) was unable to sell these self same protestors as flag loving young people, kinda like the ones who stormed the beaches of Normandy, although that wasn’t due to a lack of trying on their part.
It remains to be seen whether or not Harris will be able to coerce the nomination from her party, but then this is the party that not only nominated Hillary Clinton, but actually rigged their own primary process to cement her win. For the Democratic Party nominating Harris seems like a logical progression that will lead to the parties eventual and well deserved implosion.
