An “active shooter incident” in Austin left at least one dead and several others wounded early Sunday, authorities said.
EMS officials in the Texas capital confirmed that a woman aged in her 30s was pronounced dead at the scene. Three others — two women and a man — were transported to hospital. A fifth patient refused to be treated.
They added “multiple incidents” had occurred in the E. 6th Street area.
One of the scenes was in the vicinity of the Friends Bar.
According to NBC station KXAN, paramedics searched the area for several patients who had suffered bullet wounds.
At least four gunshots could be heard on footage posted on social media. However, it was unclear whether they were from the original incident or potentially the police response.
