Ann Wilson, lead singer of the rock band Heart, announced she has been diagnosed with cancer.
“I recently underwent an operation to remove something that, as it turns out, was cancerous. The operation was successful & I’m feeling great but my doctors are now advising me to undergo a course of preventative chemotherapy & I’ve decided to do it,” Wilson said.
“And so my doctors are instructing me to take the rest of the year away from the stage in order to fully recover,” she added.
As a result, the band postponed the remaining shows on its Royal Flush Tour.

Fox News reports:
The band is currently on its “Royal Flush” tour of the U.S. and Canada, which was set to continue at the end of July in Ohio and close in Las Vegas on Dec. 15.
Along the way, they planned to make stops in dozens of other cities.
The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame band is known for hits like “Magic Man,” “Crazy on You,” “Barracuda” and “Alone.”
Heart have been forced to cancel all of their 2024 tour dates as Ann Wilson undergoes cancer treatment.

According to the release, the rescheduled tour dates will be announced in the coming weeks.
Over 50 shows in dozens of cities across the US and Canada are affected by the postponement.
The rock group also canceled the European leg of its tour in May, with a release via X announcing Wilson had to have “a time-sensitive but routine procedure for which the minimum recovery time is six weeks.”
Heart formed in 1973, with the band being led by Wilson and her sister Nancy Wilson on the guitar.
