GOP Senators Stab Voters In The Back As They Side With Dems to Advance Biden’s Radical Judicial Picks

Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) is not present, but a number of GOP senators have teamed up with their Democratic counterparts to promote a number of President Joe Biden’s nominations for lifetime appointments to federal courts in her place.

“The Senate Judiciary Committee discharged seven nominees from President Joe Biden on April 20 as at least one Republican joined all remaining Democrats on the panel,” The Epoch Times reported on Friday.

GOP senators helped candidates Orelia Merchant, Jeffrey Cummings, and LaShonda Hunt advance their nominations for U.S. District Court judgeships in the Eastern District of New York and Northern District of Illinois, respectively, according to the news source.

The report stated that other nominees for U.S. District Court judgeships in the District of New Jersey, including Michael Farbiarz and Robert Kirsch, as well as Monica Almadani and Wesley Hsu, who were nominated for positions in the Central District of California, also received similar support from GOP senators to advance in the nomination procedure.

The Judiciary Committee, which has 11 Democratic senators led by Chairman Dick Durbin (D-Ill.), is one of the committees where the Democrats now hold a majority because they currently dominate the Senate. Republicans now have ten members, but because Feinstein has been battling shingles since February, she has asked to be temporarily replaced. Her attempt was thwarted by Ranking Member Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.).

Nevertheless, he has teamed up with other Republicans on the committee to support Democrats in moving a number of Biden’s candidates forward.

“Our agenda includes a number of judicial nominees who have been sitting on the agenda for some time. Some have bipartisan support. There’s nothing to prevent us from calling and voting on these nominees today even in Sen. Feinstein’s absence,” Durbin told reporters as he prepared to hold the first nomination votes in weeks. “I understand we now have agreement to vote on several of them. I’ve spoken to Sen. Graham.”

Graham added to that sentiment saying, “Today, I’m going to do my part, and my colleagues will vote the way they think is best, to keep the committee moving forward.”

President Biden’s candidates will be examined by the Judiciary committee. Feinstein cast a proxy vote for each nominee, but according to committee rules, a proxy vote can only be cast if it is not the deciding vote, according to CNN. But without Republican support, the nominations cannot be put to a full Senate vote.

Only Graham, a Republican, voted in favor of three of the candidates. The Epoch Times reported that several other Republicans, including Senators Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) and Mike Lee (R-Utah), supported other choices.

On the Senate floor, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) recently stated that nominees “who are mainstream and qualified” would earn bipartisan support. But he added that Feinstein’s absence would mean “that Democrats aren’t able to push through a small fraction of their nominees who are so extreme and so unqualified that they cannot win a single Republican vote in committee.”

To that purpose, Durbin delayed voting on some of Biden’s more extreme picks, such as Kato Crews. He also couldn’t remember what a crucial court case meant.

During his confirmation hearing, Sen. John Kennedy (R-La.) questioned him. Crews admitted that he had forgotten what a Brady motion was.

“I believe the Brady case involves something regarding the Second Amendment. It has not—I’ve not had occasion to address that. If that issue were to come before me, I would certainly analyze that Supreme Court precedent and apply it, as I would need to, to the facts in front of me,” Crews said during the hearing.

However The Epoch Times pointed out the facts Crews got wrong: “under the U.S. Supreme Court decision Brady v. Maryland, defendants may seek to force prosecutors to turn over evidence that may be favorable to the defendants.”

Crews, a judge in Denver at the moment, was deemed unable to serve on a federal bench by McConnell because of his lack of understanding.

“Charnelle Bjelkengren, another appointee who did not receive a vote, couldn’t say during her confirmation hearing what Article II or Article V of the U.S. Constitution says,” The Epoch Times noted.

Lindsey Graham, Romney, Collins, Murkowski, McConnell and others in the Senate are RINO’S. They only care about their offshore bank accounts.

If the republicans don’t unite and not side with the democrats, I will not vote for one republican and I will vote for Kennedy. You republicans have no balls. You are doing, in fighting, Trump andDeSantis and the rest of you are nothing but a bunch of rhinos. This is so sickening to watch. You are the only ones who can challenge communism in this country and instead of everyone of you sticking together like glue you give everything over to the democrats for what? Money? Well let me tell you something, communists don’t give a rats ass what you did to get them in they will put You in the ovens with the rest of us. What good will a Chinese dollar be if you can only spend it on what they allow You to spend it on? And you churches, you are all guilty of the worst sins possible. And you gay rights activists, guess who they will burn in the ovens first. You think any communist party will care that you destroyed America for them? Not going to happen. America you are so stupid. God help us, please.
