A former Philadelphia congressman who was a part of the Abscam scandal over 40 years ago is on his way back to prison.

Myers is a former democrat U.S. representative who became infamous for his role in the 1970s scandal when he was convicted of bribery and conspiracy after he took money from undercover FBI agents.

Myers, 79, who formerly served as a representative for a district in Pennsylvania, entered a guilty plea to a long list of charges, including conspiring to violate the civil rights of voters, bribery, obstruction of justice, falsifying voting records, attempting to vote illegally in a federal election, and organizing schemes to rig ballot boxes for Democratic candidates in the state elections of 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, and 2018, according to Rebel News.

The Department of Justice said in a statement that Myers, who served four years in the U.S. House of Representatives, is to face 30 months in prison with three years of supervised release for his crimes.

Myers, who served from 1976 to 1980 in the House, was previously expelled and imprisoned for three years after being convicted of bribery, Fox News reported.
