Anthony Scaramucci is a bulldog. That’s why Trump appointed him as the new White House director of communications.
Like Trump himself, Scaramucci knows how to get the job done, and isn’t afraid to get down in the mud to do so.
But the media is having a field day over his wife filing for divorce a couple weeks ago, suggesting that perhaps Scaramucci isn’t so capable, after all.
Particularly damning was the fact that Deidre Scaramucci filed for divorce while she was nine-months pregnant with the couple’s second child.
But what was really behind the split?
Page Six reports:
Deidre Scaramucci, 38, fed up with her three-year marriage to the new White House communication director, filed divorce papers on July 6 in Nassau County Supreme Court.
“There’s been … a lot of lies,” said a source close to the situation.
Asked if any other person was involved in the split, those close to Scaramucci said no. Arthur Schwartz, his rep, told The Post that “There’s absolutely zero truth in that.”
The associate added, “The only one he’s dating right now is the West Wing of the White House.” Schwartz said the couple separated “five or six months ago.”
Anthony’s associate said that the couple is trying to divorce amicably and that Anthony was pursuing “a different career objective that didn’t align with Deidre’s trajectory.”
Another person close to Anthony claimed that he was actually the victim of his wife’s verbal abuse: “She would say, ‘You’re a grifter, you’re this.’ She would mock him for being a Trump sycophant.”
When Scaramucci first married Deidre, she was seen as a “trophy wife” following the divorce from his first wife.
But Deidre proved to be smart and capable, and a lot more liberal than Scaramucci. In particular, reports suggest long-running tension over Scaramucci’s affinity for and support of Trump.
