President Trump officially started the process of building is the Mexican border wall this week
A number of contractors submitted designs and the bidding process began, reported The Daily Express.
Between four and eight companies are expected to win contracts to build prototypes in southern California.
Official stated that this will take place between now and September.
President Trump’s budget for next year already includes $1.6 billion for the measure, enough to complete about half the total length of wall required to curb illegal immigration.
Trump intends to install solar panels on the wall to provide cheap energy to neighboring communities. He joked that this means he would need to demand much less compensation from Mexico.
