Oprah May Run For President in 2020, Says She’d Be a Better President Than Trump

“If one celebrity billionaire can become President, why not me” Oprah has been thinking to herself.

A few days ago, on an interview for Bloomberg’s “The David Rubenstein Show: Peer-to-Peer Conversations,” she revealed she’d maybe consider running for president. It was in 1988 that Oprah herself asked Donald Trump if he’d ever consider running for President.

If she progresses at his pace, should we expect her run by the middle of the century?

One sentence stood out as a diss on Trump in her interview when she seemed to insinuate that she “thinks she has what it takes and that the job requires no experience whatsoever in light of Trump’s victory.”

If Trump’s win proves anything, it’s that you don’t need political experience to be President. Both Trump and Oprah have serious business accomplishments under their belt, with Oprah being the first self-made female black billionaire in the world – and is one of the world’s only 11 black billionaires.

Winfrey endorsed Clinton, the first female major-party U.S. presidential nominee, in 2016, telling Entertainment Tonight last June that “it’s a seminal moment for women.” She didn’t back Hillary to the extent that she backed Obama, but would obviously be the first female president if she were to win.

Actor Jamie Foxx, and actress Eva Longoria are among the stars who have previously said they would vote for Winfrey to be president. Left-wing hasbeen filmmaker Michael Moore has been calling on her to run since 2003, according to the Chicago Tribune.

Of course, among the other 2020 candidates who have yet to rule out running include rapper Kanye West and WWE wrestler Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, so maybe we should take all anticipated 2020 campaigns with a grain of salt here.
