Target Caught Funding WOKE Group That Pushes For Closure Of Mt. Rushmore, Calling Landmark A ‘Symbol Of White Supremacy’

It has been revealed that Target, via its nonprofit Target Foundation, funded a group that advocates for the demilitarization of the United States’ “violent” military, Palestinian-led BDS (Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions) movements, and the restoration of federal land to its original owners.

NDN Collective, whose slogan is “Defend. Develop. Decolonize.,” is based out of South Dakota, and much of its work focuses on issues within the state. It has repeatedly called for the closure of Mt. Rushmore, which it deemed an “international symbol of white supremacy.”

According to Fox News, the Target Foundation’s website notes that the embattled retail giant funded the NDN Collective in 2022, however, the exact amount has not been revealed.

What has been disclosed via the NDN Collective’s 2021 tax filing, however, is that the group obtained as much as $50 million in funding.

With that money, the NDN Collective has advocated for numerous far-left causes. On its website and in the media, it hasn’t shied away from vocally opposing American institutions.

It accused the US Military of being “in the explicit business of taking land away from communities all around the world and using their presence on their land to carry out their own agenda for the inhabitants of that area,” suggesting that, “violence is fundamental for the US to maintain its presence, and the military is how they establish dominance domestically and internationally, wherever they may be.”

On the issue of Mt. Rushmore, the group called for the “return of that land and all public lands in the Black Hills, South Dakota.”

“Not only does Mount Rushmore sit in the heart of the sacred Black Hills,” it stated, “but it is an international symbol of White supremacy and colonization. To truly dismantle white supremacy and systems of oppression, we have to go back to the roots, which, for us, is putting Indigenous Lands back in Indigenous hands.”
