WATCH: NYC Mayor Cries That 50% Of His Sanctuary City’s Hotel Rooms Are Now Occupied By Illegal Immigrants

Eric Adams, The feckless Mayor of our largest sanctuary city, New York City, is whining that half of the city’s hotel rooms are now being occupied by illegal migrants and that it’s hurting the city’s economy.

Let me take a moment to pull out my tiny violin.

Recently, it was discovered that homeless US veterans were kicked out of some hotels in the city to make way for migrants, while other hotels canceled wedding reservations for the same reason.

The Mayor has also accused the Biden administration of turning its back on New York.

He asserted that the wave of illegal immigrants that is engulfing his and other cities “should not be happening” and that it requires “a national solution.”

The Blaze reports: Adams made the comments on Wednesday while addressing criticism for his handling of the crisis.

“In order to address an onslaught, you have to have places you can put people. Almost half of all hotel rooms now are taken up by asylum seekers. Think about that. I’m not sure what it’s going to take before people hear what I am saying,” said Adams in a media briefing in Harlem.

“New York City is the hotel capital. We’re the hotel capital — tourism, visitors, sporting events, graduations,” he added. “It’s a major economic engine for us. Almost 50% of those hotel rooms are being taken up by migrant asylum seekers.”

The Democrat has been lambasted on all sides for his handling of the issue, but others of his own party lined up to accuse him of exaggerating the problem.

“It would be impossible,” said City Councilwoman Diana Ayala. “The math doesn’t add up.”

Officials estimate about 65,000 migrants have arrived in New York City in recent months, but many of those have been placed in public school gyms, emergency relief shelters, and some homeless shelters.

Adams went on to to demand that the federal government do more to help his administration deal with the crisis at the border.

“Instead of moneys coming from people who are visiting us and spending and our tourism and our Broadway plays — instead of them using those hotels, we’re using those hotels,” Adams said.

Various hotel officials dodged queries from the New York Daily News to confirm the claim made by Adams.

and now multiply his problem by 400% , until the hospitals are filing chapter 11, until nobody has absolutely nothing left to give, the illegals are using up all resources.
there is nothing for the taxpaying citizen except higher taxes.
i hope all the leaders of the sanctuary cities realize their dilemma immediately because nobody can afford this.
i know everyone wants to slap the stupid out of them, but there would be nothing left,
maybe just maybe Xiden will get an ear full from the idiots he listens to.

This is great news for Gov Abbott. Now he knows exactly how many illegals he needs to send to NY to fill up all of their hotels!

When you tell the world of people that have nothing to come to your city and you will take care of them this is what you get. Anyone with a brain knew this would happen, yet these Mayors kept insisting that they were a welcoming city. That was because they weren’t being flooded with people that have nothing. Now they are crying because the people that knew this would happen is sending the thousands of people to their cities. It was all ok when they didn’t have to deal with the problem, but now it’s in their lap. The money and costs has to come from somewhere, but they didn’t think about that. Good luck.
