Yesterday the president of global affairs at Meta (Facebook’s parent company) Nick Clegg stated Trump’s Facebook suspension will be lifted after being suspended for over two years.
Trump’s Facebook was originally suspended shortly after protests occurred at the Capitol on January 6th.
Trump’s not too impressed with being unbanned and took to Truth Social to post “FACEBOOK, which has lost Billions of Dollars in value since ‘de-platforming’ your favorite President, me, has just announced that they are reinstating my account.”
The 45th president would continue “Such a thing should never again happen to a sitting President or anybody else who is not deserving of retribution!”

Mr Trump, in a post on his own social media network, condemned Facebook’s decision to suspend his account as he praised his own site, Truth Social.
“FACEBOOK, which has lost Billions of Dollars in value since ‘deplatforming’ your favorite President, me, has just announced that they are reinstating my account. Such a thing should never again happen to a sitting President, or anybody else who is not deserving of retribution!” he wrote.
Other social media companies had also kicked Mr Trump off their platforms, though he was recently reinstated on Twitter after Elon Musk took over the company. He has not tweeted.

CBS News had more details to report about Trump being unbanned:
President Donald Trump’s Facebook and Instagram accounts will be reinstated “in the coming weeks,” the social media platforms’ parent company Meta said on Wednesday.
Trump’s accounts have been suspended since January 2021 when Meta initially banned the him indefinitely, after finding his posts on Jan. 6 amid the attack on the U.S. Capitol stoked violence and posed a risk to public safety.
The announcement comes as Trump ramps up his third presidential campaign. But Meta said Trump will come back to the platform “with new guardrails in place to deter repeat offenses.”
“In light of his violations, he now also faces heightened penalties for repeat offenses,” Nick Clegg, Meta’s President of Global Affairs said in a blog post. “In the event that Mr. Trump posts further violating content, the content will be removed and he will be suspended for between one month and two years, depending on the severity of the violation.”
