It’s just being reported that both Kevin McCarthy and Chip Roy have announced they have made a tenative deal.
It was announced on a GOP conference all, according to reports.
Here’s what we know:

Others are reporting that there is a deal but it’s not been finalized yet:
HOUSE GOP CALL — McCarthy said he has reached a deal with Roy, but it is not finalized with the holdouts.
Graves on the call talking about budget cuts, “looking to cut the same amount as in 2011,” per source

MCCARTHY now clarifying they do NOT have a final deal, things are still being talked about, and told reporters to get off the call

A Capitol Hill reporter is now saying that McCarthy is pushing back on the reporting, saying there is no deal yet:
McCarthy just told members to stop leaking to reporters, says there is misinformation out there asserting that he did not say he and Roy have a deal.

Chip Roy’s press office is also pushing back on this:
He did not say this. And any agreement will take us ALL. We are making progress… but don’t let the sharks confuse the ongoing engagement. #Onward #StandUpForAmerica @chiproytx https://t.co/uyOVgq3BmR

But it does sound like they are closer to a deal. This is from a CNN reporter:
Kevin McCarthy tells GOP on call that there is no deal yet but “we’re in a good position” sources tell @MZanona @mkraju @FoxReports and me.
He tried to strike a more positive, gracious tone and laid out some of the details that have emerged in the negotiations.

McCarthy said committees need to be a microcosm of the conference, with more far right Freedom Caucus members on all committees, a signal that promising committee posts have been a key part of the negotiations. Sources say McCarthy is describing this as equal representation.

McCarthy said the rules package presented on Sunday is staying the same and that the only change is the threshold to allow one member to call for the motion to vacate, which he claims not to be worried about.
“Everyone on our call before January 3rd loved that package”
— Annie Grayer (@AnnieGrayerCNN) January 6, 2023
GOP Rep. Patrick McHenry, a McCarthy ally and negotiator in this process, said on the call that no committee gavels have been promised and that talk of that is all rumors, sources added.
— Annie Grayer (@AnnieGrayerCNN) January 6, 2023
McCarthy specifically thanked Chip Roy for his role in the negotiations, a key holdout, and said he can tell that members are working hard and trying to work through their disagreements in good faith. McCarthy claimed he has not been part of the negotiations specifically
