Biden Just Gave $172 MILLION To Soros Organization To Keep Illegal Immigrants From Being Deported

The Vera Institute, founded in 1961, is an independent non-profit national research and policy organization based in New York.

According to its website, the institute “fights to transform the criminal and legal justice systems across the U.S.”

The founding director of Vera Institute is Herbert Sturtz, who passed away in 2021 at age 90.

Sturtz was a former deputy mayor under Mayor Ed Koch, a one-time chairman of the New York City Planning Commission, and either founded or played a key role in many non-profit organizations.

Sturtz had served as a senior advisor to George Soros’ Open Society Foundations (OSF).

The Open Society foundations, partially funded by Soros himself with $32 billion of his own money, states on its website to be “the world’s largest private funder of independent groups working for justice, democratic governance and human rights.”

Illegal immigrants, especially those entering the U.S. along its southern border, have been a crucial issue for some time and have escalated during the Biden administration’s tenure.

Vice-President Kamala Harris was named by the president to be the leader in addressing the problem.

Harris became nicknamed the “border czar.”

In 2021, it was reported that there were more than 1.7 million migrants detained along the U.S.-Mexico border that year, the highest number ever recorded. The people apprehended were from more than 160 countries, mainly Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras, and El Salvador.

The US. authorities stated at that time that they encountered more than 145,000 unaccompanied children within those detained.

According to Fox, in 2022 there have been more than 100,000 unaccompanied minor encounters, and the minors are not being removed under the Title 42 health order but are instead transferred into the custody of Health and Human Services and moved to either parents or sponsors around the country.

In May 2022, there were more than 239,000 migrant encounters and an average of 692 minors in the custody of ICE.

Fox reports that recently the Biden administration signed a five-year contract to start leasing an abandoned school in Greensboro, N.C. to house unaccompanied minors away from the southern border.

It is expected that potentially thousands of children will be detained at the American Hebrew Academy Campus in Greensboro until they can be housed with family members or sponsors, Fox News stated.

One of the initiatives of the Vera Institute has to do with illegal aliens and their impending deportation.

The U. S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) states that those who are apprehended for whatever reason are placed in “safe, secure, and humane environments and under appropriate conditions of confinement.”

The Vera Institute seeks to end “mass incarceration” by cutting down on the number of jails, prisons, and detention centers in the United States. The group has also signaled support for defunding police, Breitbart reports.

The Vera Institute is propelled by taxpayer-backed government grants and contracts, as well as private donations.

As Breitbart News reported in 2018, the Vera Institute of Justice was previously awarded $310 million by the Obama administration to help UACs avoid deportation.

The group also takes taxpayer money via sanctuary jurisdictions.

For instance, in 2019 the Vera Institute of Justice worked with the city of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to create a program dedicated to helping illegal aliens avoid deportation specifically by providing them with free legal services.

Between July 1, 2020, and June 30, 2021, $152 million of the group’s $191 million in revenue came from government sources, its most recent financial audit shows.

In January, Fox News reported that the Biden administration, through the Department of Health and Human Services, had “given” the “Soros-backed” Vera Institute $164 million to “provide immigration-related legal services to unaccompanied minors.”

Western Journal reported at that time,” Even as the White House claims that Joe Biden is not soft on crime, it has been reported that his administration has the potential to give nearly $200 million to a Soros-linked group to help criminal illegals escape punishment.”

Now the Vera Institute has received more backing from the Biden administration.

The left-wing group linked to billionaire George Soros has won a nearly $172 million federal contract from President Joe Biden’s administration to help young border crossers avoid deportation, a report revealed this week, Breitbart stated.

Fox News’s Adam Shaw and Joe Schoffstall reported on Thursday that the Vera Institute of Justice, with financial ties to Soros, has won a federal contract for $171.7 million that will provide attorneys to Unaccompanied Alien Children (UACs) to avoid deportation from the United States.

The federal contract could end up showering the Vera Institute of Justice with $1 billion in taxpayer funding, Fox News reported:

The arrangement lasts until March 2023 but can reach as high as $983 million if renewed until March 2027, the agreement shows. This appears to be the largest federal contract Vera has secured for immigration-related services for any single year dating back to the mid-2000s.

Fox stated that the Vera Institute views immigration enforcement agencies as a “threat” to civil liberties.

The Vera Institute had not yet responded to a Fox News inquiry.
