Things have gotten so bad in the Democratic Party that they have begun to turn on themselves.
Following a series of shootings, New York City Mayor Eric Adams blasted Black Lives Matter, claiming that the movement has failed to speak out against the rising crime wave hurting minority communities.
“Where are all those who stated ‘Black lives matter’?” Adams asked during an appearance on NY1, according to the New York Post.
“Do an analysis of who was killed or shot last night,” he continued. “I was up all night speaking to my commanders in the Bronx, in Brooklyn. The victims were black.”
A series of shootings took place across the Bronx and Brookly late Tuesday and early Wednesday, leaving three people dead and 13 others injured. Those killed include a 23-year-old woman and two men, 22 and 21.
“The lives of these black children that are dying every night matter,” Adams said. “We can’t be hypocrites.”
The national BLM organization has come under fire recently for shady financial dealings, including the purchase of a lavish $6 million mansion in Los Angeles.
An in-depth report of the group’s finances revealed that it used donor funds to buy the sprawling property in California—which it is calling the “Creator’s House,”—shortly after the summer of 2020.
Ethical watchdogs have blasted the purchase as a clear violation of charitable finance rules, but BLM has denied any wrongdoing.
“We know narratives like this cause harm to organizers doing brilliant work across the country and these reports do not reflect the totality of the movement,” the organization claimed. “We apologize for the distress this has caused to our supporters and those who work in service of Black liberation daily.”
One of BLM’s disgraced co-founders, Patrisse Cullors, who was forced to step down from the organization over similar allegations of financial mismanagement, even claimed that criticism over BLM’s lavish mansion borders on racism.
“The fact that a reputable publication would allow a reporter, with a proven and very public bias against me and other Black leaders, to write a piece filled with misinformation, innuendo and incendiary opinions, is disheartening and unacceptable,” she wrote on Instagram.
