WATCH: Dementia Joe Forgets Who His Wife Is In His Strangest Gaffe Yet

Biden, in what was one of his most notable and weirdest gaffes yet, confused himself and his wife during a speech on Saturday, saying that his wife, First Lady “Dr.” Jill Biden, served as Obama’s VP. He’s the one that held that position for eight years/

The speech came during a commissioning ceremony held in Wilmington, Del., for the United States Navy’s newest nuclear attack submarine, the USS Delaware.

Lauding Jill for her oversight of the USS Delaware and for her commitment to military families, Joe started speaking and quickly got bogged down with the…words, mistaking her identity and his.

Speaking during the ceremony, he started of reasonably strong, for him at least, getting through a bit of his remarks on her without veering off course:

“The daughter of a Navy signalman during World War II, the mother of a Delaware National Guard member, the grandmother of children who witnessed their father being overseas for a year at a time. She has a special place in her heart for our military and their families. And this is not hyperbole; this is the truth.”

Then, as is now distressingly usual, the Biden Bus plowed into the gaffe wall, with Slow Joe Biden saying that Jill served as Vice President. In his words:

“I’m incredibly pleased of the work she’s doing as First Lady with the Joining Forces effort she co-founded with Michelle Obama as vice president and now leads.”

Now I get that he’s getting old, but it seems like even Joe should be able to remember that he was the Vice President, not “Dr.” Jill. Apparently not. And he’s the one with the nuclear button, the guy supposed to steer the USS Ship of State. Hopefully he manages to remember that he’s the captain.

The transcript of Biden’s attempt at speaking was edited to reflect the error with a bracketed “I” being added in to explain what Biden met. It reads:

“And I’m enormously pleased of the job she’s doing as First Lady with the Joining Forces initiative she co-founded with Michelle Obama when she [I] was Vice President and now leads.”

And that’s not even the only error Biden has made when talking about Jill recently. He also got mixed up between himself, Jill, and Kamala at a recent event, as The Sun reports:

The president also recently confused VP Kamala Harris with his wife Jill during an address marking Equal Pay Day.

Biden said: “There’s been a little change in arrangement of who is on the stage because of the first lady’s husband contracting Covid.”

The president quickly corrected himself after realizing this meant that he was the one who got the virus.

Biden then pointed to his wife Jill, quipping: “That’s right, she’s fine. Second lady – the first gentleman how about that?

“I’m Joe Biden. I’m Jill Biden’s husband and proud of it.”’

Remember, this is the guy with his finger on the nuclear button. If his inability to grasp what his wife does is any indication of his mental state, America looks to be in trouble.

According to White House archives for the Obama administration, the Joining Forces initiative was formed “in 2011” by “First Lady Michelle Obama and Dr. Jill Biden.”

The two “came together to launch Joining Forces, a nationwide initiative calling all Americans to rally around service members, veterans, and their families and support them through wellness, education, and employment opportunities.”

A worthy cause, even if they and their husbands are generally terrible.
