In a bold prediction, Ted Cruz announced that when Republicans win back the House later this year, he expects they will begin investigations into impeaching Biden.
Sen. Cruz, R-Texas, believes that Republicans will take control of the House of Representatives in the upcoming midterm elections, and that President Joe Biden will be impeached in 2023, according to a report by Newsmax.
Cruz remarked on the current episode of his podcast, Verdict with Ted Cruz, that he is “extremely bullish about 2022,” adding, “I put the Republicans winning the House at 90/10 and it may even be higher than that.”
Cruz also said that if the Republicans win the House next year, the president may face impeachment, stating, “If we capture the House, which I indicated is extremely likely, then I believe we will see significant investigations of the Biden administration.”
Cruz believes impeachment is a possibility, noting that “whether it’s justified or not, the Democrats weaponized impeachment.” They utilized it to target [former President Donald] Trump as a partisan target because they disagreed with him. One of the major drawbacks of doing so is that the more you weaponize it and turn it into a partisan cudgel, the more you realize that “what’s good for the goose is good for the gander.”
“I believe there will be tremendous pressure on a Republican-controlled House to initiate impeachment proceedings. I believe there are several grounds for impeachment to consider. The complete lawlessness with which President Biden enforces the border is probably the most compelling. Cruz argued that Republicans will respond against Democrats for impeaching Trump by simply deifying immigration laws. “That’s certainly the best case for impeachment right now, but there could be others.”
Yes there are definitely other grounds for impeachment, especially after the withdrawal disaster in Afghanistan that saw Joe Biden run away from a terrorist group, leaving Americans behind and hundreds of billions of dollars in military equipment and weapons in the hands of the Taliban.
I think between the border and Afghanistan, it’s an open and shut case. But will Republicans actually impeach Biden? I seriously doubt it.
