Ciattarelli took the lead again in New Jersey’s gubernatorial race after one county fixed an ‘error’ where they had double counted the early vote.
Hudson County, according to Steve Kornacki, has corrected their vote totals and here’s the result:
The early vote was double-counted in Hudson County. It has now been fixed, bringing Murphy’s total down by 10,732 and Ciattarelli’s by 2,842. Ciattarelli goes back up in the statewide tally:
Ciattarelli (R): 1,177,803 (49.6%)
Murphy (D) 1,177,108 (49.6%)— Steve Kornacki (@SteveKornacki) November 3, 2021
That was about 25 minutes ago.
While writing this post I just checked and the lead has already switched back to Murphy, but the race is ever so tight:
The race is still too close to call and could end up in a recount if the race remains this tight.
