A Democrat said that Nunes should face an ethics probe over the accusations that Lev Parnas’ lawyer says his client will make when testifying to Congress. From The Hill:
House Armed Services Committee Chairman Adam Smith (D-Wash.) said Saturday that top House Intelligence Committee Republican Devin Nunes (Calif.) should face an ethics probe due to accusations that he met with a former Ukrainian prosecutor who is central to the impeachment inquiry.
Asked in an MSNBC interview whether Nunes should be investigated, Smith said, “Quite likely, without question.”
.@RepAdamSmith: This isn’t really about #JoeBiden… What it is about is covering up what the Russians did in the first place and covering up the extent to which a whole lot of people… were in direct contact with the very Russians who were interfering in our election. #AMJoy pic.twitter.com/xqtt0aKymk

Now this is really interesting because Nunes is not only denying the charges, but says he is going to SUE two news outlets for reporting it!
It basically comes down to whether Dems can prove that Nunes went to Ukraine looking to dig up dirt on Biden. And as I often say, it doesn’t matter what you know, it matters what you can prove. SO can they prove it?
Now, let’s say, theoretically that they can prove it. So what? I guess they can demand that Nunes recuse himself from the hearings in the House. He could just refuse. And even if he doesn’t, there are plenty of other Republicans who are defending Trump just as vehemently as Nunes is. And then we’re right back to square one.
