Ilhan Omar Says She Is Fighting Lobbyist Influence In Washington – Then Why Is She Taking THOUSANDS From Terror Front Group CAIR?

Rep. Ilhan Omar is not having a good week.

After she landed in a controversy over anti-Semitic tweets, the lawmaker drew criticism from both political parties. President Donald Trump even called for her removal from Congress.

Now, she’s resorting to attacks on lobbyists to shift the spotlight away from herself.

A tweet from the Muslim lawmaker included a half-hearted apology but quickly turned into an attack against the American Israel Public Affairs Committee, the National Rifle Association and the fossil fuel industry.

From the looks of her tweet, Omar may seem like a politician who refuses lobbyist money.

But unfortunately for her, the Federal Election Commission loves to keep track of who is donating to which candidate. According to the FEC’s website, Omar isn’t as squeaky-clean as she may want people to believe.

The website shows that in August of 2018, Omar took $5,000 from the California branch of CAIR — the Council on American-Islamic Relations.

According to CAIR’s website, the group’s mission is to “enhance understanding of Islam, protect civil rights, promote justice, and empower American Muslims.”

But not everyone thinks CAIR exists to promote justice and civil rights.

In a United States federal court, the group was named an unindicted co-conspirator in a case where the largest Islamic charity in the United States was accused of helping Hamas terrorists, as National Review’s Scott W. Johnson reported in 2007.

More recently, in 2014, the United Arab Emirates announced it considers CAIR a terror front group, according to Fox News. As Fox reported, some have linked CAIR to Hamas and the extremist Muslim Brotherhood.

CAIR rejects these claim, and the group even has a page dedicated to fighting what the group calls “conspiracy theories.”

Despite that, we’re beginning to get a complete picture of Ilhan Omar.

She doesn’t like Israel. Her anti-AIPAC tweet has made that abundantly clear. She also doesn’t like money in politics (unless, of course, it’s going to her).

To top it off, she appears to be best friends with her fellow lawmaker, radical Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York.

On Tuesday, Trump spoke for many Americans when he said Omar should leave Congressover her remarks.

Unfortunately, Omar appears to have no plans to vacate her congressional seat.

Despite that, the newly elected lawmaker is now on thin ice after her comments.

Anything else even remotely anti-Semitic could land her in hot water not only with political enemies but from those in her own party as well.
