If this week is any indication, 2019 is going to be utterly insane.
There’s a good chance that ends up hurting Democrats in 2020 but, for the next 12 months, we’re all going to be treated to some of the craziest, most over-the-top politics we’ve ever seen. Democrats – and Mitt Romney – are all going to try to one-up each other in a year-long contest to see who can say the most incendiary thing, Trump is going to fire back, and politicians on both sides will be forced to defend their rhetoric.
How do we know that? We know that because it’s already happening.
As both Dan and I have discussed, Rashida Tlaib has proven herself to be the latest in a long line of super-classy politicians from Detroit. Yesterday, she went on an expletive-laced rant about President Trump and how Democrats were going to “impeach the motherf***er.”
You can watch it here but keep one thing in mind. If you work in a facility that employs civilized human beings, it’s not safe for work:

Tlaib has since defended her comments by invoking the tired cliche of “speaking truth to power.”

So, if she’s so proud of speaking boldly, she should want to address questions from the press, right? She works for the people of Michigan and, as their employee, owes them an explanation if they demand it. You would think she’d be eager to speak to them, just as she speaks “to power.”
You would be wrong.
In fact, when reporters tried to get Tlaib to address her comments, she literally ran away. Unfortunately, she didn’t seem to know where to go, so she kept getting corralled by rope lines, handlers, and onlookers. Welcome to D.C., Ms. Tlaib, where the cameras are always running.

Oh, and what’s this? Newly re-minted Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi doesn’t want to talk about “Motherf***ergate” either!

As I said earlier, the hatred is absolutely palpable in this new House of Representatives. You’d be hard-pressed to find a single Democrat who doesn’t agree with Tlaib, and they won’t be able to keep that rage in check.
It’s going to be a huge asset to the GOP in 2020, and it’s going to be a wild two years.
