Tessa Brennaman, Devin Patrick Kelley’s first wife, broke her silence on the deadly massacre that took the lives of over two dozen Texas churchgoers and told the show that she lived in fear daily over Kelley’s threats that he would kill both her and her entire family.

Brennaman’s account of Kelley’s behavior emerged in a Friday preview of the upcoming airing of her interview with CBS’ Inside Edition.

What did she say?

In addition to speaking out against Kelley’s myriad “demons,” Brennaman recalled a time when Kelley flew into a rage over a speeding ticket and held a gun to her temple.

“He had a gun in his holster,” Brennaman recalled of the incident, “and he took that gun out, and he put it to my [temple] and he told me, ‘Do you want to die? Do you want to die?’”

She added, “He just had a lot of demons or hatred inside of him.”

Kelley once assaulted Brennaman and grievously injured her infant son, and ended up serving 12 months’ prison time for the incident.

According to records, Kelley enlisted in the Air Force in 2010 and obtained a marriage license the following year to wed Brennaman.

The couple divorced in 2012 after Kelley was charged with the assault on Brennaman and her son.

As a result of the assaults, Kelley received a bad conduct discharge from the Air Force.
