BREAKING: Rep. Scalise Takes Turn For the Worse, Has To Be Readmitted Into ICU

Just a couple days ago, House Majority Whip Rep. Steve Scalise was discharged from intensive care after suffering a critical injury in last month’s DC shooting perpetrated by a deranged Democratic terrorist.

Now, doctors at MedStar Washington Hospital Center say the congressman has had to be readmitted to intensive care and is again listed in serious condition.

On Tuesday, Tennessee GOP Rep. Phil Roe told The Hill that Scalise was “out of bed. He’s had a very, very, serious injury. He’s not able to eat yet, but he is getting better.”

But 24 hours later, the situation took a drastic turn for the worse.

Doctors at MedStar issued the following update via Twitter on Wednesday:

“Congressman Steve Scalise has been readmitted to the Intensive Care Unit at MedStar Washington Hospital Center due to new concerns for infection. His condition is listed as serious.”

The hospital did not elaborate on the infection concerns.

Initial reports from the attack on a congressional baseball practice noted that Scalise had been hit in the hip, causing many people to think his injuries were minor.

In fact, Scalise was rushed to MedStar in critical condition.

At the time, doctors stated that the rifle shot to the congressman’s hip “traveled across his pelvis, fracturing bones, injuring internal organs, and causing severe bleeding.”
