President Donald Trump and his wildly successful family have been admired by millions of people for years, but one Texas man just took that admiration to a whole new level by doing something extreme — taking the president’s last name.
YouTube entertainer Ernesto Baeza Acosta, 34, legally changed his last name to “Trump” on June 19 after an Ector County judge approved his name change petition, according to the New York Post.
“I want to use my new name because it is more suitable for professional purposes,” the man, whose YouTube channel has more than 7,000 subscribers, said in the petition.
The new Trump is the son of a Mexican couple who came to the United States illegally more than 40 years ago, but have since attained green cards, according to the San Antonio Express-News.
He jokingly suggested that he was the president’s other son, explained that he was the “undeportable one” — a jest at Trump’s tough and controversial stance on illegal immigration.
While his mother was not pleased with his decision to change his last name to “Trump,” he proceeded with the petition anyway.
“We all have our own lives,” he told her, according to the Dallas Morning News.
The Texas Trump said that he has been a supporter of the president since the beginning, citing the president’s Second Amendment policies, in particular.
“The man, to me, has done nothing wrong,” he said, adding, “He ain’t trying to take our guns away. A lot of us here in Texas like guns.”
He also reached out to the president on social media, calling for some quality father-“son” time.
Well, that’s one way to show your support for the president.
