Republican National Committee chairman Reince Priebus will be President-elect Donald Trump’s chief of staff, according to multiple reports.

Politico reporter Marc Caputo tweeted the news first:

Trump sources also confirmed the news to Fox News:

Trump advisers also confirmed the news to several CNN reporters.

“It is truly an honor to join President-elect Trump in the White House as his Chief of Staff,” Priebus said. “I am very grateful to the president-elect for this opportunity to serve him and this nation as we work to create an economy that works for everyone, secure our borders, repeal and replace Obamacare and destroy radical Islamic terrorism.”

“He will be a great president for all Americans,” Priebus added.

Several of Trump’s top advisers, including campaign manager Kellyanne Conway and campaign CEO Steve Bannon, were in the running for the coveted position. It was reported that former campaign manager Corey Lewandowski was also in consideration for the position.

Bannon, on the other hand, will remain with Trump in the White House as chief strategist and senior counselor.

“I am thrilled to have my very successful team continue with me in leading our country,” Trump said, according to Business Insider. “Steve and Reince are highly qualified leaders who worked well together on our campaign and led us to a historic victory. Now I will have them both with me in the White House as we work to make America great again.

The campaign made the announcement official in a statement Sunday afternoon. Conway said Saturday the announcement was “imminent.”
