In one of the most populous counties in a crucial swing state, Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump‘s campaign operations are being run by a 12-year-old.
Weston Imer is the co-chairman of the Jefferson County campaign in Colorado. Officially, Weston’s mother Laurel Imer is the field coordinator, but she tells KDVR that she gave her son the bulk of the work to help teach him responsibility.
But don’t worry, Weston’s tenure is only for now– he starts school in September, after all.
Jefferson County is a crucial one if Trump hopes to win Colorado, and by extension the 2016 presidential race. The fourth most populous county in Colorado, it voted 53% for Republican Mitt Romney in the 2012 race.
