Putin’s 4th Of July Message To Obama

Let’s start working together again.

Russian President Vladimir Putin sent a message to America, and to President Obama, for the Fourth of July.

In the message released Monday the Russian president recalled the history between the two nations and said they have often worked together to solve “the most difficult international problems to the benefit of both our nations and all humankind.” ABC News reported.

The relationship between the United States and Russia has been strained since Russia annexed Ukraine’s Crimean Peninsula in 2014.

While Putin appears to want to mend fences, not everyone in Russia was feeling the warm fuzzies, especially for Obama.

But in another part of Russia on Monday a youth wing of the United Russia party, that recently announced would be headed by Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, staged a protest against U.S. military involvement overseas, according to ABC News.

“Under its current leadership, the United States has become a parasite state that attacks other countries under any pretext, violating their sovereignty, causing revolutions, using military force, killing civilians and their destroying statehood,” one of the activists, Denis Davydov, said. “We call on the United States on the Independence Day not only to preserve their own independence but also respect the independence of other countries.”
