White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany called the media out for their hysterical reporting after Trump announced he was taking hydroxychloroquine, including both Neil Cavuto and CNN’s Chris Cuomo.
McEnany first noted that the drug has been around for 65 years and has a very good safety profile. She also pointed out that HCQ is an FDA approved drug.
She then quoted Jimmy Kimmel for suggesting that Trump is taking the drug to kill himself, Neil Cavuto who suggested that people could die from it, and Chris Cuomo for mocking Trump for taking the drug saying he knows it’s not supported by science.
In light of this, she then revealed some new information on Chris Cuomo, saying he actually took a less safe version of HCQ known as Quinine which the FDA removed from the market in 2006 because of it’s serious side effects.
