Despite his ideological disagreements with Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, whose votes on the high court always seem to match with Democrat interests, President Donald Trump nevertheless wished the 85-year-old justice a speedy recovery Friday.
“Wishing Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg a full and speedy recovery!” he tweeted shortly after word broke that Ginsburg had undergone surgery for lung cancer earlier in the day.

According to a statement published by the high court, Ginsburg specifically underwent “a pulmonary lobectomy” to remove “[t]wo nodules in the lower lobe of her left lung” that had been discovered when the justice was hospitalized last month for fractured ribs.
“[B]oth nodules removed during surgery were found to be malignant on initial pathology evaluation,” the statement reads. “Post-surgery, there was no evidence of any remaining disease. Scans performed before surgery indicated no evidence of disease elsewhere in the body.”
Long story short, she’ll be OK.
While the announcement that she’d underwent surgery for cancer triggered widespread shock and panic among the left, the president’s response to her ordeal provoked some surprise as well.
