CNN is desperate.
Their feud with President Trump has cost the network its credibility and relevance. CNN is more of a joke than a serious media outlet.
CNN, however, is determined to once again be something more than a source of entertainment on par with the WWE.
And they’ll apparently do anything to accomplish that.
Even shamelessly exploit a controversial, but still widely respected US senator is dying.
While most of the nation was shocked this week to learn Sen. John McCain had been diagnosed with brain cancer, the eyes of CNN executives lit up with dollar signs.
CNN managed to obtain exclusive, but largely irrelevant content while McCain was still in the hospital, and they played it for all it was worth, and then some.
Throughout the ordeal, CNN medical correspondent Dr. Sanjay Gupta was repeatedly called on air with the network each time offering exaggerated reminders to viewers that what they were watching was EXCLUSIVE.
Never mind that the crux of the story – McCain’s diagnosis – was by no means exclusive.
