t turns out the Dwayne Johnson, a.k.a. The Rock, is no longer happy just being the top paid actor in Hollywood. He has set his sights on something much bigger.

During an interview with GQ Magazine, the former Professional Wrestler dropped a People’s Elbow with this gigantic announcement:

The Rock is now planning on running for President!

He told GQ magazine during the interview,

‘A year ago, it started coming up more and more. There was a real sense of earnestness, which made me go home and think, “Let me really rethink my answer and make sure I am giving an answer that is truthful and also respectful.”‘

Pretty bold statement, but saying you wanna be President and being President are 2 totally different things.

“Personally, I feel that if I were president, poise would be important. Leadership would be important. Taking responsibility for everybody. [If I didn’t agree with someone] on something, I wouldn’t shut them out. I would actually include them.”

He continued,

“The first thing we’d do is we’d come and sit down and we’d talk about it. We all have issues, and we all gotta work our s**t out. And I feel like one of the qualities of a great leader is not shutting people out. I miss that part. Even if we disagree, we’ve got to figure it out.”

This isn’t his first consideration, either. Remember his interview a few months back on ABC where he floated the idea?

So there is no solid commitment to 2020 just yet. If he can hold off til 2024 (so Trump gets a round 2), and he keeps those ideas pro-work and patriotic, maybe we will all be wearing “The People’s President” t-shirts…
