Crowdfunding Campaign For Green Beret Killed in Afghanistan Raises Over $325,000

In a time where the liberal media’s dislike for the president dominates headlines, it’s easy to forget that most Americans truly support our troops. But one stunning story is revealing that the amount of support and respect for our fallen heroes knows no bounds. This is truly amazing!

A GoFundMe page was set up for the family of Green Beret Staff Sgt. Mark De Alencar after he was killed in combat with the Islamic State group in Afghanistan last week.

He is survived by his wife and five children.

De Alencar was deployed in the country’s Nangarhar Province when he was hit by a small arms fire and killed in the line of duty.

Nikki Damron, a family friend, set up the page in an effort to help De Alencar’s widow through this heartbreaking time and the American people showed up to support in a HUGE way. The fundraising goal was $15,000 and by the end of the first day of the campaign… $10,000 had already been raised for SSG De Alencar’s family.

The numbers continued to rise from there.

Damron, who stated that she is also a military wife, wanted to ensure that De Alencar’s family would be provided for, promising to make sure any of the donations will personally be handed off to his widow.

“Any amount will help and know with 100 percent certainty that every penny donated will go directly to his family.  I will withdraw the money and hand deliver the check, to his wife, the second this campaign is finished, ” she wrote.

Well, it did not take long for the story to be circulated and within just two days the page has been shared over 4,000 times. To say the effort reached its fundraising goal would be one of the biggest understatements of the year.

As of late Monday evening, after only a few days of being live, the fundraising campaign has succeeded in raising more than $325,000.

We salute you, Staff Sgt. Mark De Alencar. Thank you for your incredible service.
