Legislation has been introduced by Representatives Mike Rogers and Mo Brooks that will add a 2 percent fee to all wire transfers to the illegal’s home country. This fee would be continual which would pay for the maintenance of the wall once it is built. BRILLIANT!
“This bill is simple — anyone who sends their money to countries that benefit from our porous borders and illegal immigration should be responsible for providing some of the funds needed to complete the wall,” Rep. Mike Rogers said in a statement.
He added, “This bill keeps money in the American economy, and most importantly, it creates a funding stream to build the wall.”
Funding for the border wall, according to House Speaker Paul Ryan, may have to be delayed. Ryan told CBS News Thursday that Congress will not be able to satisfy President Donald Trump’s request for more money for the wall until next year.
“The big chunk of money for the wall, really, is … next fiscal year’s appropriations because they literally can’t start construction even this quickly,” he said.
