It is now against the law for citizens of Ireland to view or share any content that is not considered mainstream media on their mobile phones or personal computers, as a new law just passed through the Irish legislature.
Because of the new legislation, anyone who views or shares content that has been labeled as “hateful” by independent fact-checkers could face prison sentences for their participation in the viewing or sharing of that content.
Naturally, the bill does not provide a definition for “hate speech,” but it does give legal weight to the most recent definitions of gender. Now, a prison sentence is a real possibility for any deviations.
