Famous Actor Preparing Run To Take Down Shifty Adam Schiff For His House Seat

Adam Schiff joined the U.S. House of Representatives in 2018. Having won his seat in November again, his current term now ends in January 2025. The Democrat represents California’s 30th Congressional District, which encompasses West Hollywood, Burbank, Pasadena, and more areas. Originally from Massachusetts, Schiff is a lawyer and politician, having attended Stanford University in political science and Harvard Law School.

Speaker Nancy Pelosi chose Schiff to lead the impeachment inquiry against then-President Trump, as Schiff has been vocal in opposition against the 45th president. Schiff has been the ranking member of the House Select Committee on Intelligence, on which he has served since 2008, and has taken constant aim at Trump.

Fox News reports that many suspect Schiff will be vying for Diane Feinstein’s Senate seat in the 2024 election, though 89-year-old Feinstein has not said what her plans are once her term is up in January 2025.

Now it appears that Ben Savage will run against Schiff in 2024, according to filings from the Federal Elections Commission submitted Wednesday. Savage filed a statement of organization with the FEC registering as a Democrat candidate challenging Schiff.

Just The News reports that actor Ben Savage, best known for his years-long performance of Corey Matthews on the hit ABC series “Boy Meets World,” appears prepared to mount a challenge to California Democrat Rep. Adam Schiff for his House seat. Federal Election Commission forms filed this week indicate Savage, a Democrat, is preparing to mount a run for California’s 30th Congressional District, which Schiff has controlled since 2001. Schiff has not indicated any plans to retire from that seat, meaning the two could end up squaring off in a primary, though Schiff himself has indicated he is possibly considering a run for Senate.

Savage’s role as Corey Matthews on “Boy Meets World” during 1993-2000 was reprised in 2014-17 for the spinoff “Girl Meets World. Ben is the brother of actor Fred Savage, who had a lead role in the successful show “The Wonder Years”. After his stint on television ending in 2000, Savage attended Stanford University, studying political science and interning with Republican Senator Arlen Spector from Pennsylvania.

In 2014, when asked by Rolling Stone about his political aspirations, he commented, “Acting and politics are almost too similar. I don’t know…You have to be a very specific breed to do that.” Of course, the late former President Ronald Reagan was notably that breed, as were Arnold Schwarzenegger and Jesse Ventura. It seems Savage may have decided since then that he too is of that breed.

This is not Savage’s first attempt in gaining a political seat. He previously ran unsuccessfully for a seat on the West Hollywood City Council in 2022. His platform then was community safety, strengthening the local economy and housing the homeless. At that time, he said, ” Our community is facing serious challenges around public safety, struggling businesses, the cost of housing, and homelessness. We need new leaders with a fresh perspective, who are ready to begin tackling these issues.”

With two years until the next election, Savage is moving slowly with his plans. He is engaged to Tessa Angermeier, and their wedding is being planned at the moment. Representatives for Savage told multiple outlets that, “he is focused on his upcoming wedding. Ben is still making decisions and always looking for opportunities to give back and serve the community.”

The numerous Democrat challengers suggest Schiff is not beloved in his position as representative. Schiff published his memoir, “Midnight in Washington: How We Almost Lost Our Democracy And Still Could” in 2021. It debuted on the nonfiction New York /times best-seller’s list. Schiff has a net worth of $1.4 million as of 2018, per Open Secrets. His salary in Congress is $174,000 per year. given his political career in government service, his worth is astounding.

In the case of the recently discovered numerous groups of classified documents in the possession of President Biden, Schiff spoke on Attorney General Merrick Garland’s appointment of a special council to investigate the findings. Admitting that Garland has no choice, given his approach to the FBI raid on former President Trump’s Florida home and the special council appointed in that case, in an appearance on ABC’s “This Week” Schiff stated he couldn’t “exclude the possibility” that national security might have been compromised in Biden’s documents “without knowing more of the facts”.

In addition to Savage and Schiff, five others have filed to run for the spot in 2024, four Democrat candidates and one Republican candidate, Fox News noted.

Even though Feinstein has not made her intentions known about her seat, along with Democrat Schiff Democrats Katie Porter and Barbara Lee are announcing their intentions should Feinstein vacate the seat and not run.

Feinstein said in a statement on Tuesday following Porter’s announcement, “everyone is of course welcome to throw their hat in the ring,” and that she’ll lay out her plans for 2024 “at the appropriate time”.

The 2024 General Election will be in November 5, 2024.

Every time I see Adam Schiff I think of the term “sleazeball”. It fits him like a glove.
