During an interview with USA Today, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi praised herself as a “street fighter,” saying she would have fought off the capitol rioters during the event that took place on January 6th.
“That’s what they were setting out to do,” Pelosi said, claiming the rioters were out to get her.
She continued, “Well, I’m pretty tough. I’m a street fighter. They would have had a battle on their hands.”
Pelosi is 81 years old and stands at 5’5”.

Members of Congress were forced to evacuate in gas masks after a violent mob of supporters of President Donald Trump overpowered Capitol Police and breached the building.
Pence, in his capacity as vice president, and thus president of the Senate, was presiding over proceedings to certify President-elect Joe Biden’s electoral win at the time.
Richard “Bigo” Barnett, one of the alleged rioters, went viral for photos of him with his feet up on a desk in Pelosi’s office. The suspect, according to prosecutors, was carrying a stun gun.
Pence, Pelosi and other congressional leaders were all evacuated within moments of the building being breached.
Pelosi has made several questionable comments in recent weeks. In her new biography by USA Today Washington bureau chief Susan Page, Pelosi unloaded on members of the progressive “Squad.”
During the interviews for the biography, Pelosi shredded Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York, Ilhan Omar of Minnesota, Ayanna Pressley of Massachusetts, and Rashida Tlaib of Michigan, even calling out Ocasio-Cortez for her ignorance.
According to Axios: “Pelosi unloads on the Squad, at one point adopting a child-like voice when discussing Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, and offers the Squad this blunt advice: “You’re not a one-person show. This is the Congress of the United States.””

During another part in her series of interviews with Page, Pelosi blames former President Barack Obama over problems whipping votes in favor of the Affordable Care Act, known as Obamacare, from lawmakers representing Obama’s home state of Illinois.
“Why are we having a problem with Illinois?” Pelosi asked. She also said that Obama does not deserve sole credit for getting legislation through Congress under his administration.
