In one of the more maddening instances of COVID insanity, a NYC waitress was fired because she wanted to wait on getting the vaccine over worries that it have an effect on her pregnancy.
Bonnie Jacobson, 34, said that the management at Red Hook Tavern fired her on Monday simply because she balked at getting the shot immediately.
Jacobson also said that she’s not an anti-vaxxer and “fully supports” people being inoculated, but said she wants to wait for more research on the coronavirus vaccine’s possible effects on fertility.
But that wasn’t enough for her COVID-Nazi boss, and her simply worrying about it was enough for him to terminate her.
The New York Post covered the story, see what they had to share:
New York City waitress says she was fired from a popular Brooklyn restaurant after choosing not to get the COVID-19 vaccine for fear it might hurt her chances of getting pregnant.
Bonnie Jacobson, 34, told The Post that the management at Red Hook Tavern canned her on Monday because she balked at getting the shot immediately.
“It was shocking to me,” she said Wednesday. “I went through the stages: I’m hurt, I’m in shock — then I got mad.”
Jacobson, who has been married since October 2019, stressed that she’s not an anti-vaxxer and “fully supports” people being inoculated, but said she wants to wait for more research on the coronavirus vaccine’s possible effects on fertility.
NBC News reported the story too:
A New York City waitress was fired from her job after she told her supervisors that she wanted to wait before she got the Covid-19 vaccine.
Bonnie Jacobson, of Brooklyn, said she was unexpectedly terminated from Red Hook Tavern on Monday, days after she expressed concern about how the vaccine affects fertility.
Jacobson said she and her husband had recently started trying to have a child, but their plans were put on hold after she lost her job in April due to the coronavirus pandemic.
