It’s bad enough that he’s already ducking the difficult questions and that his Press Sec is fumbling her way through her answers. (Are going to ‘circle back’ yet again Psaki?)
But it somehow makes it worse when you’re caught fumbling your way through an open book test and you knew the questions in advance.
Yes, that said ‘questions in advance’.
When even the far-left DailyBeast is critical of how the Democrats are running this clown show, you know it’s gotta be pretty bad.
You can tell that even the criticism is coming from a sympathetic rather than a hostile criticism of what’s going on, which suggests that the frustration isn’t the sort of empty posturing we saw through most of the last 4 years.
According to three sources with knowledge of the matter, as well as written communications reviewed by The Daily Beast, the new president’s communications staff have already on occasion probed reporters to see what questions they plan on asking new White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki when called upon during briefings.
The requests prompted concerns among the White House press corps, whose members, like many reporters, are sensitive to the perception that they are coordinating with political communications staffers.
One reporter raised the issue during an informal White House Correspondents Association Zoom call last Friday. According to multiple sources, leaders at the meeting advised print reporters to push back against requests by the White House press team to learn of questions in advance, or simply to not respond to the Biden team’s inquiries.
“While it’s a relief to see briefings return, particularly with a commitment to factual information, the press can’t really do its job in the briefing room if the White House is picking and choosing the questions they want,” one White House correspondent said. “That’s not really a free press at all.”
“It pissed off enough reporters for people to flag it for the [WHCA] for them to deal with it,” another knowledgeable source said. –DailyBeast
We bring your attention to the ‘commitment to factual information’ line, which is interesting, considering the way even ‘fact checkers’ in the press have given Biden cover for even the most outrageous lies — like whether he said he would eliminate fracking or not — spiking real stories about corruption and conflicts of interst as ‘russian disinformation’, and mindlessly parroting Democrat talking points (like ‘the Big Lie’) almost word-for-word.
They can trash Trump all they want, and complain that he gave up on the format that lets dishonest little showboats like Jim Acosta get their hostile soundbites in which his snipe, rather than the President’s words were intended as the news story. But he made himself available to the press almost every day, sometimes for half an hour or more at a time.
Was he hostile to the press? Yeah. They wept tears of sorrow on the day Hillary lost. He knew who they were, how they were as much his opponent as Nancy or Schumer ever were.
Anything he said that conflicted with their narrative was called a lie — even when their narratives were later disproven. (Russian collusion, for instance.)
Should it really surprise anyone that Biden sees these same presstitutes who served him so faithfully as ‘allies’ through the election campaign serving him up tough questions like what kind of ice cream he was having might continue to serve has glorified coffee-fetchers?
Isn’t this the exact reason the public doesn’t trust these clods as far as they could throw them?
