Police in Kenosha were trying to arrest violent criminal Jacob Blake when he resisted and brandished a knife, the Police Union said this weekend. And the criminal complaint against him, also released this weekend, is deeply disturbing.
“The purely fictional depiction of events coming from those without direct knowledge of what actually occurred is incredibly harmful, and provides no benefit to anyone whatsoever, other than to perpetuate a misleading narrative,” said Kenosha Professional Police Association attorney Brendan Matthews in a statement.

According to the statement from Matthews, officers were told before they arrived that Blake had a felony warrant for his arrest for a domestic violence incident that included a charge of third-degree sexual assault. Officers who encounter people with active warrants are required to take them into custody.
Although people at the scene told media that Blake was breaking up a fight between two women, the statement from the association disputes that. It also disputes statements that Blake was unarmed.
“Mr. Blake was not unarmed. He was armed with a knife. The officers did not see the knife initially,” Matthews said in his statement. “The officers issued repeated commands for Mr. Blake to drop the knife. He did not comply.”
Matthews stated that officers went “hands-on” with Blake and two officers used tasers. “Mr. Blake forcefully fought with the officers,” including putting one of the officers in a headlock.
The union’s account is backed up by the police department’s releases on the details.
That reason for that warrant was made public, and it is amazing how far off the narrative is from the truth about this man. The press keep showing pictures of him with his kids like some kind of hero. In truth, he shouldn’t have been anywhere NEAR kids.
Blake’s ex-girlfriend, referred to as “LNB” in the criminal complaint, says Blake sexually assaulted her after entering her home unlawfully in May.
The graphic description in the complaint is deeply disturbing, so be warned. Here is the worst but most relevant part:
LNB stated at about 6AM she was woken up by the father of her children, Jacob Blake, herein known as the defendant, standing over her saying, “I want my shit.” As LNB lay there, on her back, the defendant, suddenly and without warning, reached his hand between her legs, penetrated her vaginally with a finger, pull it out and sniffed it, and said, “Smells like you’ve been with other men.”
Officer Raiche reported LNB had a very difficult time telling him this and cried as she told how the defendant assaulted her and then the defendant immediately left the bedroom.
LNB stated the defendant penetrating her digitally caused her pain and humiliation and was done without her consent.
Blake then stole her vehicle and fled.
He was forbidden from returning to the scene of his crime, but did so anyway. That’s what he was doing there the day of the shooting. Not breaking up a fight, but torturing his victim. It was his victim who called police, to rescue her from Blake.
Which they did. Even though he was armed. And he’s still alive, no thanks to his own actions.
