Does Witless Whitmer Have An Agenda??

Share this:

Liberal *ahem* “Leadership” in the State of Michigan for these last few months has been rather interesting, to say the least, interesting as in feckless, non-existent and downright bizarre

Although not considered a POC (Person of Credibility or Person of Color), Gretchen Whitmer the governor of Michigan may still harbor hopes of obtaining the highly coveted selection as Joe Biden’s running mate. It could be that she realizes that the oft-repeated adage “only a heartbeat away from the Presidency” has never been more applicable, or she might theorize that anyone ill-informed enough to vote for Joe Biden would certainly not be dissuaded by her candidacy.

Regardless of her reasoning, Whitmer is certainly going all out in her efforts to pander to special interest groups something that is without a doubt a major prerequisite for serious Democratic Vice Presidential candidates.

Whitmer did learn from the very best

Just recently Whitmer performed amazing feats of “woke” political activism. A recent article in the “Detroit News” informs us that the Michigan Governor went so far as to march with Black Lives Matter protesters at an event in Highland Park, Michigan. The article points out

Whitmer drew criticism after she stood shoulder to shoulder with some march participants, who included Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan. From the front line to last, the marchers started at Highland Park city hall and were a rolling quarter-mile of humanity traveling southbound on Woodward, with the skyline of downtown Detroit in the distance ahead, as a caravan of Detroit and Highland Park police vehicles escorted them while a helicopter buzzed overhead.

It is worth pointing out that while Whitmer participated in this farce peaceful protest (which fortunately did not result in burning, looting or statue toppling) she did so while her State (under her direction) endured some of the strictest lock down regulations in the country

Just recently those who were fed up with Whitmer’s draconian regulations marched upon the State Capitol in Lansing as a form of peaceful protest. The individuals involved in that march were not portrayed as concerned citizen’s expressing their first amendment rights (as were those individuals marching with Whitmer) in fact, those who marched in opposition to Whitmer were lambasted by the liberal media and accused of “killing Grandma”.

Of course, this despicable, disease-ridden, and diabolical mob that dared defy the Governor were risking the spread of COVID 19 and, as punishment no doubt, the extension of the same draconian measures that they were protesting in the first place.

As the “Washington Post” reported, Governor Whitmer when speaking of the demonstrations opposing her policy remarked that

“We know that this demonstration is going to come at a cost to people’s health,” Whitmer said. “We know that when people gather that way without masks … that’s how covid-19 spreads. And so the sad irony here is that the protest was that they don’t like being in this stay-at-home order, and they may have just created a need to lengthen it, which is something we’re trying to avoid at all costs.”

Why then didn’t the Highland Park protest endanger people’s health? Isn’t claiming that the protest that you supported didn’t endanger health, but the protest that you opposed did blatant hypocrisy? Why sure it is, but rather than admit the error of her ways the Governor’s office attempted the seemingly herculean task of spinning this for Whitmer, by denying that she had violated the order. But, when faced with the fact that your average six-year-old (as well as some advanced five-year-olds) could readily discern that photos of the march in which Whitmer participated showed less than six inches of separation between the Governor and her fellow marchers, let alone six feet, the Governor’s office choose to educate the unwashed masses as to why Whitmer was allowed to seemingly violate the same orders that she herself had instituted and championed

Whitmer spokeswoman Tiffany Brown denied the governor had violated her own executive order issued Monday that says people should remain six feet apart if participating in public gatherings.

Well that seems odd in light of the preponderance of evidence to the contrary, but wait, there’s more

Contrary to the administration’s own guidance posted online, Brown said the unity march didn’t violate her latest order because it states, “Nothing in this order shall be taken to abridge protections guaranteed by the state or federal constitution.”

In case that wasn’t clear enough, Brown added

“That includes the right to peaceful protest,” she said.

But…..

….a page of frequently asked questions about the order on the governor’s website specifically says, “Persons may engage in expressive activities protected by the First Amendment within the State of Michigan but must adhere to social distancing measures recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, including remaining at least six feet from people from outside the person’s household.”

This pathetic display of posturing didn’t go unnoticed, or unchallenged by Whitmer’s political opponents

“Social distancing is critical to stop the spread of COVID-19 — unless you have a great photo op,” state Rep. Lynn Afenoudlis, R-Grand Rapids Township, tweeted.

That would have been bad enough if it had ended right there, but of course, it didn’t. Perhaps Whitmer’s handlers believed that although the Governor appeared pretty woke, she might not be woke enough. And thus Whitmer proceeded to insult the integrity of law enforcement officers in general, and Michigan law enforcement officials in particular.

In a story that strangely received little traction outside of the State of Michigan, and almost none from liberal publications, the Governor was being interviewed on “The Root” which is described by Wikepedia as “a liberal African-American-oriented online magazine” and while discussing the fact that many of those protesting her overreach in Lansing did so while being armed, she was asked

“How do you respond to people who say if there were a group of black men who stormed the state Capitol, that they would have been dead.”

According to a video, Whitmer responded: “I understand why people say that and I don’t disagree.”

It’s not every day that a Governor would accuse her State’s entire police force of being capable of murdering innocent protestors, and it certainly appeared as if an apology by Whitmer’s office was in order to clear up this ummmm misunderstanding. After all, a simple apology would go a long way toward fixing the problem, perhaps opening a discourse between the police and the Governor’s office. But sadly, no, the Governor’s office and the very overworked “explainer in chief” Tiffany Brown chose to go another route. When Whitmer’s remarks drew criticism from everyone capable of cognitive thought, Whitmer’s office responded

“It’s disappointing but not surprising that President Trump and the Michigan Republican Party continue to fan the flames of racial division,” spokeswoman Tiffany Brown said in an email.

“Gov. Whitmer won’t be distracted by these petty partisan attacks that seek to divide Americans.”

Whew!! For a moment there it looked like Whitmer might be the one fanning the flames of racial division by suggesting that black men protesting in the Capital would be killed by the police. It’s a good thing Whitmer’s office cleared that up!

Fortunately for the individuals in this photo taken during a protest against police brutality in May of 2020, despite the fact that they (the protestors) were well armed, no one was shot by the police during this protest, which, by the way, took place in Lansing (Michigan’s Capital). Perhaps police officials couldn’t tell that these individuals were black.

It gets worse, as “The Wall Street Journal” reported recently, there appears to be a very real correlation between lockdown and unemployment. While Michigan doesn’t have the worst unemployment rate in the country (that distinction currently goes to Nevada) Michigan is certainly in the running, coming in at 49th while touting an unemployment rate of 21.2%, a truly depressing and distressing figure. The Journal’s article also makes plain that the States with the most arduous lockdowns (looking at you Michigan), typically have the highest unemployment.

So are lockdown’s working, or is social distancing just a tool to keep the population compliant and to punish your political opponents with? Those answers aren’t clear cut, but when left winger’s like Whitmer are allowed to flaunt, and downright violate the rules they expect you to abide by, doesn’t that indicate that things are somewhat less dire than they appear?

If you look at States like Michigan and other liberal bastions where the lockdowns are the most severe you can clearly see the results of high unemployment and witness the people struggling , but take heart, it appears as if Michigan’s chief panderer has that situation well under control as demonstrated by a recent interaction between Governor Whitmer and an unemployed health care worker. Fox New’s Sean Hannity had the story

An unhappy constituent posed a serious question to Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer this week; prompting the Democrat politician to deflect the conversation while offering to “buy him a hot dog.”

“I just want to know if I can ask you a question… I’m a laid-off healthcare worker. I haven’t received any of my benefits. Is there any possible way we can fix the problem here?” asked the man.

“I can check for you… Absolutely. Can I buy you a hot dog?”

Can Michigan’s governor (or anyone else for that matter) possibly be this out of touch? It would appear that Whitmer is unaware of the devastating effects her stringent lockdown efforts have had on the State of Michigan, but is this an accurate statement? Could it be possible that despite appearances to the contrary, Whitmer is well aware of the pain and suffering inflicted upon her constituents, but sees it as a way of ensuring a Biden victory in November?

Could even the most cold-hearted and uncaring politician actually strive to prolong real hard times to achieve a political victory? Sadly it would appear so, and if you look at all of Whitmer’s actions over the last few months you can only conclude that yes, she does have an agenda, and it’s a pretty lame agenda at that.
