CHAZ’s summer of love has turned into the summer of hate, as we all knew it would, with two shootings over the weekend leaving one man dead. Seattle’s idiotic mayor has finally seen the light and will dismantle CHAZ, as she should have done when it began:
GUARDIAN – Seattle officials announced on Monday that they would begin to dismantle the six blocks of occupied streets known as the Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone, or “Chaz”, following two shootings at the site in 48 hours.
“It’s time for people to go home. It is time for us to restore Cal Anderson and Capitol Hill so it can be a vibrant part of the community,” said the Seattle mayor, Jenny Durkan, during a press conference. “We can still accommodate people who want to protest peacefully, come there and gather. But the impacts on the businesses and residents and community are now too much.”
Durkan said Seattle police would be returning to the east precinct, the site they abandoned after a series of dangerous clashes between protesters and law enforcement.
She said they’ll do so “peacefully” and “in the near future” but did not offer an exact timeline.
The decision comes about two weeks after a section of the Seattle neighborhood of Capitol Hill was occupied by protesters as a self-proclaimed police-free zone. The area is also known as the Capitol Hill Organized Protest (Chop).
This is the same mayor who told Trump “don’t be so afraid of democracy,” as if this was some peaceful protest. One man got killed and others injured because of her support for this anarchist operation.
And now it’s potentially going to be that much more dangerous to take it down:
Exactly. Except that the mayor has declared that police won’t be involved in dismantling CHAZ. They’re just going to ask them to leave:
SEATTLE TIMES – Durkan said the city would attempt to phase down nighttime activity in the Capitol Hill Organized Protest area, known as CHOP — or earlier, as CHAZ — but would not be using police to clear the zone. Rather, Durkan said, they’d ask people to leave the area voluntarily at night, offering resources for homeless people and working with community groups to try to cajole people to leave the area, where dozens of tents have sprouted up in recent weeks, along with couches, guerrilla gardens and graffiti.

They’re going to ‘cajole’ them to leave. HAHAHAHAHA! Good luck with that!
I’m going to make a prediction. Before this is over, the mayor will be sending in the police to dismantle CHAZ with violence. Just wait and see.
