‘I Will Not Yield!’: Democrats Set Off Jim Jordan Into A FIERY Committee Speech!

Share this:

Prior to the House Judiciary Committee vote to hold Attorney General William Barr in contempt of Congress on Wednesday, Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH)  delivered a scorching speech in which he told Democrats the unvarnished truth. They want to silence Barr before he exposes the whole conspiracy. Jordan said:

Bill Barr is following the law. What’s his reward? Democrats are going to hold him in contempt.

I don’t think today is about getting information. I don’t think it’s about getting the unredacted Mueller Report…I think it’s all about trying to destroy Bill Barr because Democrats are nervous he’s going to get to the bottom of everything. He’s going to find out how and why this investigation started in the first place.

Jordan laid out the entire case, starting with the failure of leadership at the FBI. He focused on Barr’s comment that “spying did occur” and that it may have been politically motivated. He told members:

He [Barr] said, there’s a basis for my concern about the spying that took place. And maybe the most interesting thing – two terms he used that frankly I find frightening – he said in his judgment that it looks like there might have been unauthorized surveillance and political surveillance.

During his speech, Jordan mentioned a comment Sen. Minority Leader Chuck Schumer made to Trump during their first meeting in January 2017. Schumer had warned the President, “If you take on the intelligence community, they have six ways from Sunday of getting back at you.”

Jordan said:

I don’t know if the FBI went after Trump in six ways, but they sure went after him in two ways. One was the dossier…the FBI used one party’s oppo research to get a warrant from a secret court to spy on another campaign.

When they went to the court they didn’t tell the court important things like who paid for it, that Christopher Steele had said he was desperate to stop Trump, and they didn’t tell them that Steele had been fired by the FBI because he was out talking to the press.

Next Jordan talked about the FBI’s spying on the Trump campaign.

Second, just last Thursday, New York Times story, the FBI sent an investigator pretending to be somebody else to talk with George Papadopoulos who was working with the Trump campaign. You know what they call that? It’s called spying. Think about the term he used: Political surveillance.

When Jordan was asked to yield his time, he said, “I will not yield,” and calmly continued.

He spoke the truth and the Democratic members who appeared behind him in the video seemed rather bothered by it.

And, as we all know, the committee later voted to hold Barr in contempt by a 24-16 vote.
