RNC Chair Doesn’t Care If Mitt’s Family! Doesn’t Hold Back Letting Sen. Romney Have An Earful!

Republican National Committee Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel, niece of incoming Sen. Mitt Romney, R-Utah, tore into her uncle for a blistering op-ed that was highly critical of President Donald Trump.

Stating the truth, that Trump is already attacked 24/7 by much of the media and the opposition party, McDaniel called Romney’s effort “disappointing and unproductive.”

“POTUS is attacked and obstructed by the MSM media and Democrats 24/7. For an incoming Republican freshman senator to attack @realdonaldtrump as their first act feeds into what the Democrats and media want and is disappointing and unproductive.”

Her remarks came in response to President Trump’s reaction to the op-ed, with the president calling for Romney to be a team player being tame in comparison.

Romney, who will be sworn in Thursday to replace retiring Sen. Orrin Hatch, wrote on New Year’s Day that “the president has not risen to the mantle of the office.”

The online reaction to McDaniel’s tweet drew on the family ties. One social media user tweeted, “Let’s play Family Feud!”

Here’s a sampling of other responses that called attention to the family connection.

There was plenty of attention on McDaniel dropping Romney, her maiden name, from her name, after using it for years. According to the Washington Post, Trump asked her to do so after she became head of the RNC.
