Homeland Security Secretary To Migrant Caravan: ‘Do Not Come. You Will Not Be Welcome.’

Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen has a message for the migrant caravan moving from Central America towards the U.S.-Mexico border: “Do not come. You will not be allowed in.”

From Washington Examiner:

The caravan, which is moving through southern Mexico, has become the latest symbol of the ongoing debate over immigration in the country.

President Trump, who has blamed Democrats for forming the caravan without providing any evidence to support the claim, is reportedly planning to use executive action to bar migrants, including those who choose to legally seek asylum in the U.S., from crossing the southern border.

Such a move is expected to draw legal action, similar to a prior executive action the administration took in its early days to bar immigrants from several predominantly Muslim countries from coming to the U.S.

Nielsen on Sunday declined to comment on those specific plans.

“Every possible action, authority, executive program is on the table to consider to ensure that it is clear that there is a right and legal way to come to this country and no other ways will be tolerated,” she told anchor Chris Wallace on “Fox News Sunday.”
