WARNING – A U.S. District Judge Just Made Sanctuary Cities EVEN MORE DANGEROUS

Illegal immigration activists in the crime-ridden Democrat strongholds of Chicago and Philadelphia scored decisive victories in their war against America’s federal laws Friday.

In the “sanctuary city” of Chicago, U.S. District Judge Harry Leinenweber ruled that the Department of Justice may not withhold grants from the city as punishment for its refusal to abide by federal immigration laws, according to the Chicago Sun-Times.

Last year Chicago sued the Department of Justice after Attorney General Jeff Sessions warned all “sanctuary cities” that their eligibility for Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grants would be nullified unless they began complying with the law.

Some might argue that was a reasonable request, given as the DOJ’s stated purpose is “[t]o enforce the law and defend the interests of the United States according to the law.” Allowing Chicago to function as a “sanctuary” for violators of America’s federal laws would have been antithetical to that purpose.

Leinenweber disagreed and imposed an initial injunction against the DOJ in September, declaring at the time that it should apply to all “sanctuary” districts across America. His ruling Friday was him merely making the injunction permanent.

What remains unclear is whether the injunction will actually apply to all districts. The Chicago Sun-Times noted that in June the 7th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled against Leinenweber, ordering that the injunction be limited to Chicago. The Sun-Times warned that this limitation will only “be in effect until the full appeals court weighs in on whether the injunction should apply nationwide.”

Over in the “sanctuary city” of Philadelphia meanwhile, Democrat Mayor Jim Kenney announced that he won’t renew a contract that had allowed U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement authorities access to the city’s law enforcement database, known as PARS.

“I cannot in good conscience allow the agreement to continue,” the mayor said at a press conference, arguing that ICE had been abusing the database by using it to conduct investigations and lock up those in violation of America’s federal immigration laws.

“All of us have ancestors who were once immigrants,” he added. “All of us.”

In a tweet posted later that afternoon, he claimed that allowing federal immigration authorities to use Philadelphia’s law enforcement database to enforce America’s federal laws somehow impeded local cops from enforcing the city’s local laws.

It’s clear that Kenney is among the many truth-averse Democrats in America who are unable to differentiate between illegal aliens and legal immigrants. He’s also among those complicit in every single rape and/or murder of a bonafide American citizen.

So is Leinenweber and every other liberal activist judge who has decided that he or she reserves the right to usurp America’s top law enforcement agency and make a mockery of the country’s federal immigration laws.
