Online rumors started, mostly, by liberal news sources, are saying that Nikolas Cruz, the Parkland School shooter, was a white supremacist. There was even a white nationalist group in Tallahassee, Florida claimed ownership over the attack.
Police have countered those facts, and said there is no evidence at all that Cruz had any connections to any white nationalist group – or any group at all, for that matter.
Leon County law enforcement sources told the Tallahassee Democrat that they could not find any evidence linking Cruz, 19, to the Republic of Florida Militia, a white nationalist group. The connection was originally reported by the group’s self-proclaimed leader, Jordan Jereb.
Jereb said Cruz was a member of the group and had participated in paramilitary training drills in Tallahassee. He later recanted and backtracked on all of his statements, claiming that he had lied, or was “underslept” and made mistaken about Cruz.
Police confirm that there are there are “no known ties” between Cruz and Jereb.
