Liberal Media Labels Trump ‘Crazy’ And ‘Racist’, But Trump Continues To Make America Great For ALL Americans…Here’s What The Media Won’t Tell You

President Trump signed legislation to honor Martin Luther King Jr. just ahead of the great civil rights leader’s birthday.

The president signed the Martin Luther King, Jr. National Historical Park Act of 2017, designating King’s birthplace as a National Historical Park, the first of its kind in Georgia.

The legislation, introduced by another civil rights icon, Georgia Rep. John Lewis, was signed by Trump aboard Air Force One with King’s niece, Alveda King, joining the president for the private signing ceremony.

“Through his life and work, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. made America more just and free,” White House deputy press secretary Hogan Gidley told reporters on board. “This important historical park tells his story, and this bill will help ensure that the park continues to tell Dr. King’s story for generations to come.”

Already considered a National Historic Site, King’s birthplace, the church where he was baptized, and his burial place were all included and were upgraded in the new measure. The legislation expanded the site’s boundaries to include the Prince Hall Masonic Temple, which was the headquarters of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference – the civil rights organization that King co-founded.

“I am so proud that we were able to work in a bipartisan, bicameral manner to establish Georgia’s first National Historical Park in Dr. King’s name and legacy before what would be his 89th birthday and the 50th anniversary of his tragic assassination,” Lewis said in a statement. “I hope that this moment will serve as a reminder of the constant work to realize Dr. King’s dream of building the Beloved Community — a community at peace with itself and our neighbors.”

Lewis has been a vocal Trump critic, boycotting the opening of the Mississippi Civil Rights Museum in December because Trump would be at the event.

King, who will be remembered in a national holiday Monday, was assassinated in Memphis, Tenn., in 1968.

The president also signed the African American Civil Rights Network Act of 2017 on Monday, directing the National Park Service to link historical sites related to the civil rights movement, USA Today reported. The 400 Years of African-American History Commission Act marking the arrival to the English colonies of the first Africans in 1619 at Point Comfort, Va., was also signed by Trump on Monday.

Of course, the mainstream media is not about to highlight these latest acts by Trump.

Predictably, anti-Trump critics found something to object to, while they would have fallen over themselves in adoration if former President Obama had done the exact same thing.

How signing legislation honoring King and expanding a historic site amounts to “racism” is beyond comprehension. But there seems no way to understand liberals who attack every move by the president while blindly declaring “love trumps hate.”
