This Olympic Gold Medalist Doesn’t Want to ‘Represent Trump’ At Next Winter Games

Maybe it’s the millennial generation, or maybe it’s just the dumbing-down of America over the last eight years, but sometimes some young celebrity, athlete, or public figure just opens their mouth and makes the dumbest possible statement.

Take Olympic gold medalist Lindsey Vonn, who recently commented that she would represent the U.S., but NOT President Trump at the next Winter Games.

From MagNews:

Targeting Olympic gold at February’s Winter Olympics in PyeongChang, Vonn is currently in St. Moritz, Switzerland, where she spoke passionately about what it means to compete for the US ski team.

“Well I hope to represent the people of the United States, not the president,” Vonn told CNN’s Alpine Edge.

The 33-year-old Vonn is getting ready for the final act of a long and illustrious career.

As well as competing for a second Olympic gold medal in South Korea, she is attempting to break the all-time record of 86 World Cup victories held by Ingemar Stenmark since 1989.

While it’s true that Vonn may be one of the best skiers in the world and a very decorated athlete, she obviously isn’t very bright. Sorry, Lindsey – when you represent this country, you’re representing ALL of us, and that INCLUDES our President. If you don’t like it, maybe you should start skiing for a new country whose leaders you agree with…or maybe keep your opinions to yourself and just stick to what you’re good at.
