Transgender weightlifter Laurel Hubbard, who was born a biological male but competes as a female, failed to win a gold medal for New Zealand at the women’s weightlifting competition at the World Championships games this week in California. There were cheers when Hubbard lost. Many felt Hubbard should not have been allowed to compete as a woman, as being born male could give her an unfair advantage. Do you think transgender athletes, who are biologically male, be able to compete in women’s competitions?
