President Donald Trump suggested people affected by a false report from ABC News sue the outlet, the president said in a Sunday morning tweet.

After ABC News was forced to correct a false report from veteran reporter Brian Ross, Trump urged people to consider hiring a lawyer and taking action against the news outlet.

“People who lost money when the Stock Market went down 350 points based on the False and Dishonest reporting of Brian Ross of  News (he has been suspended), should consider hiring a lawyer and suing ABC for the damages this bad reporting has caused – many millions of dollars!” Trump tweeted.

ABC News published a report based on a single anonymous source that former national security adviser Mike Flynn was going to testify that Trump asked him to make contact with the Russian government during his presidential campaign. After Ross’ story, the stock markets fell 350 points. Shortly after, the outlet corrected the story, saying the source “clarified” his remarks and that the order actually came as the current administration began transitioning into the White House.

“It is vital we get the story right and retain the trust we have built with our audience –- these are our core principles. We fell far short of that yesterday. Effective immediately, Brian Ross will be suspended for four weeks without pay,” the network said in its statement.
